Cyprus in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011

Cyprus participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 in Düsseldorf, Germany. The winner of the talent show ''Performance'', broadcast by the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation (CyBC), was the Cypriot entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2011, which was decided on 10 September 2010.
==Performance==
CyBC announced in December 2009 that the Cypriot entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 will be selected through the singing competition of the new talent show, ''Performance''. CyBC accepted applications from anyone between 16 and 30 years old. 13 weekly shows were held from 19 March 2010, with 39 contestants being selected by a jury consisting of Lia Vissi, Costas Kakoyiannis, Neoclis Neocleous and Fotis Nikolaou (60% of the vote) and a public televote (the remaining 40%) to progress to the next stage.
The top nine contestants from the original 39 will go forward to compete in the final of Performance on 10 September. They are:〔 〕
*Costa Ioannides
*Christos Mylordos - Winner
*Nicole Nikolaidou
*Louis Panagiotou - ''2nd place''
*Daphne Seisou
*Annita Skoutela - ''3rd place''
*Stella Stylianou
*Malvina Charalambidi
*Marios Charalambous
On 10 September, Christos Mylordos won the ''Performance'' talent show, singing "Supreme" by Robbie Williams.
According to local media, Alex Panayi, who has already represented Cyprus in 1995 and 2000, is being considered as an option to join the Cypriot team as a backing vocalist. On December 2010, Alex Panayi denied the rumors, but he is here to help and support if CyBC asks him to.
